The Collier Collection: Update Your Bucket List

“A real collector does not sell.”  —Eli Broad

On our final day of the Revs Institute Symposium, I took an hour and walked the entire museum one last time. I quietly soaked it all in. I photographed as much as I could, but the images just don’t do the collection justice. I have attempted to give Turtle Garage readers a mild flavor of the vast collection with some select photographs. You can also go to the Revs Institute official website and look at professional photographs and detailed biographies of each car. Better still, the next time you find yourself in southwest Florida make it a priority to visit the Collier Collection and automotive library at the Revs Institute. All visitors must reserve tickets for specific dates and times in advance so be sure to call ahead. The Collier Collection has to be the most comprehensive and thoughtful car collection in the world. Put a visit at the top of your bucket list.

    John,
I promise you won’t regret it! The Collier Collection has to be believed to be seen! Thanks for being a subscriber.

Thanks Philip; I’ve been there three times with Bob Rost who employed Collier’s Collection (auto museum) manager as his top Alpha Romeo driver & mechanic when Bob was a dealer in the Pittsburgh area years ago. It looks like Collier has some new additions since. You are probably aware your sculpture launching a glider stands in the entry to the Gasparilla Beach Club in Boca Grande Fl..besides out in the middle of your event venue in Bedford NY. Maybe I’ll see you around 39 Stonehill this spring?. John N

Revs is just breathtaking and awe inspiring. The glider bronze is actually of me. The artist, Derek Wernher, is an old friend who is very talented. Hope to see you this spring at the Turtle!

Thank you for posting photos of these amazing cars. They have motivated me to make an appointment to visit them.
